This is an interesting article that brings the wider context and other ideas that are key to systemic thinking to the foreground. It seems that the whole world found itself in the 'critical moment' ("in which what we do changes the social worlds in which we live, Pearce, 2007). I only hope that we will act and choose wisely what we do since now on, this is our critical moment, our opportunity to change ourselves as well as the society we live in and we want our children to live in.
